If Darius knew about Jedi and their rules for living he would have decided then and there that he could never be one. Interpersonal relationships were important. They were what drove people to become better than what they were, what connected them to the fundamental core of what made something human.
When Obi-Wan seemed confused when he asked and stated that he knew nothing of Earth or America; that threw Darius off. He hadn't expected there to be people who didn't actually know what the Earth was. Did this mean that Obi-Wan didn't know about the Milkey Way?
