Obi-Wan telling him off certainly would not help him at this point. It would only result in more choking unfortunately. Instead, he's resorted to having patience. Waiting for him to simmer down a bit, waiting for an opportunity to try to reach out to him.

They have plenty of time after all.

While Obi-Wan wouldn't recommend it, he couldn't stop anyone else from giving him a piece of their mind though.
