Days 8-11 - Test 1: Aptitude
Who: All Initiates
What: LACUNA begins her testing phases
When: Days 8-11
Where: Area 2 - Testing Grounds
Warnings: To be updated, but as this is a testing regimen, it will most likely contain language, violence, mentions of sensitive topics (up to and including pondering the murder of children)
At 06:00 hours on the morning of Day 8, every terminal, be it the one in the living quarters or one of the personal terminals within the rooms, begins broadcasting the sound of a klaxon. This sound, loud enough to reverberate, continues for 30 seconds before it ends as abruptly as it began. The lights raise and after they are fully illuminating whatever area your character may have been rudely awoken in, LACUNA's cold voice fills the silence.
As incredibly forthcoming as she's been previously, any attempts to question her further are met with cold silence.

You're not required to use this post, but it may be easier if you haven't found a partner! Feel free to make your own posts, either as actions or network posts as well! Remember, it isn't 100% necessary to obey her commands...)

"Good Morning, Initiates. Today will begin Testing. Our first Test Round will be for Aptitude measurement only. As such, blows that would otherwise be fatal will spare you. You have one hour to prepare. Afterwards, proceed to the cryopod chamber for further instruction. Thank you."

A woman runs over to Aerith and takes her hand dramatically, wailing about how she and Yuna should catch the Sunshine Gang from making off with the town's gold again.]
Wait, what? You think we're your police force? No, I....
[The woman takes Yuna's hands and starts in on convincing her to save the town's money.]

[Yuna looks at the woman and then over at Aerith. It all happens rather quickly from Yuna's point of view and she isn't sure if she agreed or if she hadn't really gotten the chance to refuse.
Some things never change.]
I think we're supposed to help them. [She spoke softly to Aeirth after attempting to reassure the wailing woman.] Which way did they go?
[Yuna takes a step to look around and notices then that her clothing has changed.] What is this? [She really isn't used to simulations like this. It all feels so real.]

But, she can't really say no to people in need of her help.]
I think so too, but I've never been a police officer.
[When Yuna notices the change in clothes, so does Aerith and she's more than happy to take out the gun from her side holster.]
These are nothing like what the Turks use, but I guess we should get ready to chase bandits? You don't think they have Chocobos we could use to catch up to those horses, do you?

Her world isn't the kind of place you go around unarmed.]
I think we're supposed to use horses. They kind of look like chocobo's though.
[Yuna has never seen a horse before.]
Think you can ride one?

[Aerith takes out the gun and looks at it before hefting it like she'd seen Vincent a few times in battle. While she'd be happier with a staff and some Materia, not being completely unarmed is good. Especially since she's about to go into a fight.
As she puts the gun away, she looks over at the animals in question and starts to walk towards them.]
After riding chocobos bareback, I think this horse with the saddle shouldn't be a huge problem, right? [She reaches up and slowly pets the horse's chestnut mane.] He's a lot less temperamental than most of the chocobos I've met.

Her attention turns towards the horse and Yuna nods. She's helped Clasko catch and train chocobo's. This can't be nearly as hard as that.] Let's do it! [Yuna smiles as she swings herself onto the horse, gently patting the horses neck as it dances beneath her.]
I've never seen a creature like this.
[Though Yuna is noticing that it response the same way a Chocobo might.]
Alright. Which way? I think they said they went that way.

[That was one of the good thing that Shin-Ra did, but considering they were responsible for those monsters.... it's the least they could do.]
Well, if we just think of them as like strange Chocobos, we might be okay.
[After she's in the saddle, Aerith asks the nearest townsperson, who directs the women to the south, mentioning a gulch.]
Well, I suppose that would be a great place to hide. So many twists and turns that we won't be able to see around. [She frowns in thought as she urges the horse forward.]
We should look for caves and also anyone that might be on higher ground. I don't relish being shot, even if it's not real. I still have bruises from yesterday's simulations.

I don't think they can jump like Chocobo's can.
[She imagines the Low Road before shaking her head and casting her mismatched gaze over the dusty world around them.] I don't think we'll be able to sneak up on them if that's the case. [This isn't the first time that Yuna's been after bandits.]
I'll go first. I can cast a protection for a little while and heal myself if I get hurt. You find where they are and we'll attack.

[She doubts those spindly legs could handle falling from the cliffs, on purpose or not.
She considers fighting Yuna about who gets to be the distraction, especially since she's used to healing and casting protection spells herself, but she doesn't have any Materia and using her own life force again isn't really high on her list right now.]
That sounds like a good idea.
[She looks at sees where the gulch opens and a cave to the south.]
If you go into the main entrance on horseback, I'll go into that cave on foot. There looks like there's a patch of plants that we can use as cover before we separate.

That's a good idea.
I'll be able to spot them about when they spot me. It'll be up to you to sneak up on them.
[Yuna will be shooting too but she'll also be trying to protect herself, so her shots might not be as reliable.
When they reach the underbrush, Yuna pauses and nods to Aerith with a warm smile.]
Ready?
[She's a little excited about it.]

When you are.
[That's all she says before she ducks down and starts sprinting towards the cave. She hears some rustling and then there are sounds that are definitely from a gun, but she doesn't stop until she's flush with the cave wall at the entrance and she only rests long enough to get situated before searching along the stone to find some sort of way into the bandit hideout.
After a long walk through the dark, she sees a light ahead and hears voices in front of her. She pulls out the gun from the holster at her side and prays that she's not about to walk into a trap.]
Hold it right there, creep! Give back the town's gold. Or els.

The trail winds low with paths that branch off ahead. She pulls on what little magic she can and casts protect around herself. It won't stop bullets but it'll at least hurt less when she inevitably gets hit.
She tries to be quiet, taking on the appearance of someone who is sneaking but as expected, she's spotted and a shot strikes the rock in front of her. Yuna takes a quick step back and turns to see the marks mans site on her.
The cave is up there which means that Aerith should be behind him. Yuna pulls her gun and takes a shot.]
Stop! [She calls out as she heads towards the men. Hopefully there aren't too man.]
